About Us
Newman Homes is a family run business that consists of Todd and Lee Newman.
They have built many New Homes across Canterbury over the past decade. With Todd’s marine engineering and boat building skills in the super yacht industry, he turned his attention to detail and high level of finishing to building New Homes for Canterbury.
Lee has worked for building companies, assisting in project management and helping owners create functional and stylish interior colours and products that works for them as individuals.
After building for many clients, Todd and Lee experienced home owners struggling with hidden costs that occur AFTER the home is built. These are costs that a lot of new home owners never anticipated such as, landscaping, curtains and blinds, extra electrical work such as alarms that not only makes a home, but also adds to the functionality of the home. Due to these common occurrences, they decided to create Newman Feature Homes. Their belief is to provide every home with no extra costs that may occur after the home owner moves in. They also believe, if a functional feature works well for themselves at home, then it becomes an added item to their feature homes. Their belief is to constantly assess new features on the market that can be incorporated in to a home, whilst not costing anymore to the new homeowners.
Their combined belief is also that ALL parties benefit from a ‘Newman Feature Home’. By providing consistent work for the community, and creating stylish, functional homes with great value for money for the purchaser while also constantly sourcing best quality and best pricing for products and services to enhance the ‘Newman Feature Home’.
Todd enjoys carefully designing and locating the home for sun and maximizing the potential for privacy, outside living and entertaining for each section. Todd also believes that a tradesman is only as good as the tradesman before him, therefore his expectations of workmanship from dig out to final curtain hanging must all be respected and reflected.
Lee enjoys creating interiors that are designed individually for each home, to create it’s own unique ‘NZ feel’ and to compliment set plans. Colour schedules are never used twice! Her belief is every house must be an individual piece. Landscaping is also designed and created for each house to accent cladding colours, exterior features and privacy fencing.
Todd and Lee’s ultimate belief is, “If the house is not livable for them, it is not livable for others!”. Therefore, each house is built as if it was their own. Every house is enjoyed during the build process by them, and this is reflected in their finished product.
